Choosing a funeral director is a very personal matter. Many times families develop a tradition of using one funeral home for several generations. This speaks very highly for that firm; however, people are presently becoming more conscious of service, selection and especially cost.
I have been a licensed funeral director for 25 years, over the last 9 years I have lived in Wilmington with my wife and four daughters, worked for and managed the Beeson funeral homes in Newark and Wilmington. My father started the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home in 1946, and we have been serving families in the Delaware Valley for over 62 years. My brother’s, Walter J. Jr. and James T. Meyers have over 60 years combined experience as funeral directors.
I have joined with my brothers and am expanding the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home, P.C. into the state of Delaware; we are currently renting the facilities of Schoenberg Memorial Chapel at 519 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, and are offering our experience and expertise in all Phases of cremation, and funeral services to the families of Delaware, and Pennsylvania. We feel it is our privilege to serve each family as if they are a member of our own, and offer guidance and support in arranging a meaningful service to commemorate a life well lived.
